Birth and Education
Greg James Aziz was born 68 years ago in London, Ontario. He went to Ridley College and later proceeded to the University of West Ontario, where he majored in economics. Greg Aziz was to later in 1971; join Affiliated Foods, a family-owned wholesale food business. The company grew exponentially to become a worldwide fresh food importer. The export business spanned from Europe, Central, and South America distributing to all major fresh food wholesale markets that existed in the United States as well as in Eastern part of Canada.
Purchasing National Steel Car
Having worked on several investment banking opportunities within New York City in the late 80s and early 90s, James Aziz managed to purchase National Steel Car from Dofasco in 1994. He aimed at transforming this newly bought company into one of the leading railroad freight car manufacturers in North America. True to his dream, he achieved it. National Steel Car’s capabilities, team building, and considerable human and capital were Greg Aziz’s main emphasis. Greg Aziz strives to pursue excellence in manufacturing and engineering, to make National Steel Car the leading company in the new car innovation while at the same time, build new railroad freight car each passing year. Under Greg’s tenure, and since 1996, this company has been receiving TTX SECO highest quality awards.
Through National Steel Car, Greg commits to the Hamilton community and is also involved with sponsorship programs on the United Way, Hamilton Opera, the Salvation Army and a host of other charities. There is also a major food drive for past and present employees every Christmas Party. Together with his Wife Irene, they have been the sponsors of Canada’s most prominent agricultural fair, the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
